join us at Cloud on Thursday 14th of March for the official opening of The Act of Making, a solo exhibition by Mahochaa (Kameliya Markovska)

Mahochaa (Kameliya Markovska, 1999) is an Amsterdam-based artist from Bulgaria.

She uses simple techniques, such as drawing and modelling clay by hand, to create detailed illustrations and objects. The complexity of her pieces is created by a repetition of patterns and movements.

Mahochaa finds inspiration within the natural world.

She recreates shapes that remind of corals, plants, leaves. Imitation of forms is a key element of her work.

The method of meditative repetition in creating the pieces brings her peace, allowing for thoughts to roam.

The products are the result of a process that doesn’t aim at creating perfect outcomes. Rather, they embrace the act of making. They emanate a quietude that is in consonance with the meditative nature of their inception.

The exhibition will be on view until 30 April 2024.
